Dr. John James DeBarros
M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. John DeBarros is a partner and one of the lead surgeons at the Weight Loss Institute of Arizona. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He currently is Chief of Surgery at Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital in Tempe and is on staff at Surgical Specialty Hospital of Arizona.
Dr.DeBarros belongs to several societies including The American Society of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgeons, The American College of Surgeons, The Society of Laparoendoscopic surgeons and the Maricopa Medical Society.
Dr.DeBarros was born and raised in Connecticut and received his undergraduate degree in Pharmacy and subsequent medical degree from the University of Connecticut as well. He subsequently completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Connecticut. Dr.DeBarros also completed the very prestigious fellowship in colorectal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, Florida. Dr.DeBarros is also a devoted family man.
Dr.DeBarros believes in the axiom “success not just surgery should be our goal”. He believes that the negative stigmata and the adverse medical impact on patients and their families is too important not to devote a comprehensive surgical weight loss management program that emphasizes a caring and dedicated approach to medicine.
Dr.DeBarros will be seeing patients at the Weight Loss Institute of Arizona.
